Meet the collective
Parallel Design Collective was founded by three people who wanted to build something of their own, a firm where their creativity, their processes, and their clients' outcomes were fully in their hands. Alex and Jacquelynn bring the design. Avery keeps everything running. Together, they've built a practice that's won over clients through referrals alone, before they ever had a website.
Co-Founder + Designer
Alex Huckins
Alex Huckins is a founder and designer at Parallel Design Collective. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from Oklahoma State University and has built her career working in luxury residential design.
Originally from the Oklahoma panhandle and now based in Kansas City, Alex brings a thoughtful and refined approach to each project. Parallel Design Collective is especially meaningful to her, as she hast he opportunity to build it alongside her identical twin sister, Avery, and partner Jacquelynn Ruwwe, whom she met early in her design career. What began as a shared passion for design, and a strong friendship, evolved into the vision for creating a studio of their own.
Outside of her work, Alex enjoys spending time with her husband, Aaron, and their two dogs, Dottie and Gus. She is excited to continue growing Parallel Design Collective and sharing the firm's work and vision with others.

Jacquelynn Ruwwe
Jacquelynn Ruwwe is a co-founder and designer at Parallel Design Collective. She holds a Master's degree in Interior Architecture and Product Design from Kansas State University and has built her career designing high-end residential homes in Kansas City. She is NCIDQ Certified, reflecting her commitment to excellence and professional standards within the industry.
Originally from the historic town of St. Joseph, Missouri, Jacquelynn now calls Kansas City home. She brings a thoughtful, creative approach to each project and values collaboration, which is at the core of her partnership with Alex Huckins and Avery Geer as they continue to grow Parallel Design Collective together.
Outside of the studio, Jacquelynn enjoys spending time outdoors with her boyfriend, Dan. She is excited to continue shaping meaningful spaces and sharing the firm's work and vision.
Co-Founder + managing partner
Avery Geer
Avery Geer is a founder and the managing partner of Parallel Design Collective. She graduated from Oklahoma State University and spent the past four years in aesthetic medicine as the Director of Data and Communications for an alliance of physicians across the core aesthetic specialties. She also served as the operations manager of a boutique medical writing firm, where she developed a strong foundation in business operations, strategy, and communication.
Originally from the Oklahoma panhandle and now based in Kansas City, Avery brings a strategic and thoughtful approach to building and growing the firm. She partners with her identical twin sister, Alex Huckins, and Jacquelynn Ruwwe, combining strong business acumen with a shared creative vision.
Outside of work, Avery enjoys spending time with her husband, Dakota, and their two dachshunds, Andi and Winnie. She is excited to continue growing Parallel Design Collective and sharing the firm's work and vision.
